Looks like lower East Montgomery
I wonder if you could clear something up for me. This wonderful photograph is marked “Middletown, MD” on the Montgomery History online exhibition of the Reed Collection. It does resemble an existing street in Middletown, but the differences are difficult to rectify, and I see it’s marked “Rockville” here. Can you confirm that it’s actually marked as a street in Rockville and not Middletown? And are you aware of any photos in the collection that are labeled as being shot in the Middletown area? Thank you so much–IDing the location has been driving me bonkers for the past week 🙂
Great catch, Chris! After double checking, the photo on this blog labeled “Unknown street in Rockville” is actually “Middletown, MD”. The street on the Montgomery History online exhibit is labeled correctly. I have changed out the photo to the correct one.
Thank you very much for taking the time to bring this to my attention … and my sincerest apologies for driving you bonkers! 🙂
Kindest Regards,
Jeanne
